URBAN DESIGN

237 x San Francisco
237 x San Francisco is a research project where the city is divided in 237 squares of 0.5 x 0.5 miles. Each square will be visited in one day for research and leads to a simple, straightforward design. Purpose of the project is to see the city from a different perspective, generate multiple ideas and approach it as a design laboratory for exploring San Francisco.
The most eye-catching element of a square, asset or problem, is captured by a sketch, scheme or image.

Proposals can vary, from a new building that strengthens a visual experience of a space or changing a street by adding trees and bike lanes, to a series of small interventions that make the daily entrance into a neighborhood more memorable and pleasant for its residents.
